Fertilizers

The fertilizer industry, which requires precise particle size classification and consistent product quality during material processing, significantly benefits from advancements in screening media technology.

Role of Fertilizers Media

In fertilizer production, screening media plays a critical role in classifying granular products, removing oversize and undersize fractions, and ensuring uniform particle size distribution for consistent application performance. Screening operations occur at multiple stages: raw material pre-screening (phosphate rock, potash), intermediate product classification during granulation, and final product grading before bagging or bulk shipping. The corrosive nature of fertilizer materials—particularly acidic phosphates and alkaline potash—demands screening media with exceptional chemical resistance and anti-clogging properties to maintain efficient continuous operation.

Chemical Resistance for Aggressive Fertilizer Materials

Fertilizer processing involves acidic (pH 3-5) and alkaline (pH 9-11) environments that rapidly corrode standard metal screens. Our stainless steel composite screen plates and PU gaskets provide exceptional chemical resistance, remaining stable for 3+ years in pH 1-13 environments—far exceeding the 1-year service life of ordinary rubber or carbon steel components. The polyurethane frame reduces mesh vibration while protecting against chemical attack, maintaining screening accuracy and structural integrity throughout extended production campaigns.

Low Breakage Rate for Friable Fertilizer Crystals

Many fertilizer products—particularly gypsum, urea, and ammonium nitrate—are friable and prone to breakage during screening, which creates dust, reduces product value, and causes clogging. Our rubber screen plate features 1.5-2.0MPa elastic modulus and arc-shaped hole walls, cushioning particle impact and achieving ≤2% breakage rate. The V-shaped screen plate with >50% open area allows particles to pass with only two-point contact, reducing friction and preventing crystal damage. These designs preserve product integrity while maximizing throughput.
